McMinnville Fireworks....

We enjoyed a fun evening at Evergreen Air Museum listening to local musicians (Humlie Family) and playing with friends.

The evening culminated in a fireworks display to the North of the museum in a clear sky. Thank God for our wonderfully free country.

Opinions Please...

I am thinking of moving this blog to wordpress, as that is where our homeschool blog is located and my writing blog will soon be there as well.

If you read blogs often and you happen to read this post.. let me know what you think of wordpress versus Blogspot..

Checking in and Changing styles

Just a quick note... checking in and adjusting the colors a little... I thought it was hard to read... What do you think?
I am still trying to design a new header, hopefully next week.

Weekend Enlightenment.

Today is here but tomorrow is not a guarantee... Are you comfortable with where you are going?
Over the last 2 months I have been asked that question from carious angles. I heard it while watching "Fireproof" the movie and then this past weekend at the Christian Heritage Home Educators Conference it was presented from a different perspective but essentially asked the same question.

Along with the few session of the Truth Project at our local Community Church asking "Do you really believe what you believe is really real?"
and a general feeling lately that something wasn't right in my life. I am beginning to sense that I was going to hear and see things in a new light. I was blessed this past weekend while at CHHEW and realized that my actions don't reflect my desire and passion for my faith. I always thought the large church (when I say large I am referring to a congregation of well over 500) was not my style. I want to be part of the process, part of the workings of the church I attend, but over the weekend my eyes were opened to the idea that no matter what size the church is , if the people are real and honest in their faith then a community church or a large church are just the same.

Christianity as a generalized idea has been warped by society for so long that there are days I ask myself , what do I really believe and how does it fit into the definition of Christianity? I guess I would first have to define Christianity on a personal level.

Scripture Challenge 2009

I started participating in this challenge last year but lost track of it and got behind. This year I decided to go back and pic up where I left off.
I am using a Creative Memories 7x7 album and a variety of supplies.
Most of the layouts are CASE'd from various places.

So far I have done 11 layouts for the challenge. I am only going to post a few of them today.

"In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust" Psalm 71:1 and in the upper right corner
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart: Proverbs

"You will keep Him in perfect Peace. Whose mind is stayed on You...." Isaiah 26:3

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do note see" Hebrews 11:1

Flower Headband

***Thaks Leigh Anne for the better shot...****

A while back Leigh Anne shared a fun crafty gift idea on her blog Your Home based Mom. I made a half joking comment about would it work for a 35 year old mom of 2 little boys... Leigh Anne replied back with something along the lines of 'why not' or 'go for it'.
Well getting ready for Celebrate Portland this coming weekend I decided to live it up and made myself a ribbon wrapped flower headband.
The picture isn't great but it is late and I was using my 2 year old camera phone...

"green" magnets

I was cleaning up and getting ready to attend an all day crop this coming weekend here in Portland. I came across some dull blades for my Creative Memories Cutting System. I was looking at them and thinking why am I throwing these out , I need to do something with them... So I glued them shut (so no one can get cut) and placed a magnet on the back side. Now I have a set of 3 colors of magnets... I plan on using them for our calendar board Green = Mommy, Blue= Daddy, and Red=kids.

Deep in Thought

We spent New Year's Eve at AC Gilbert's Discovery Village. It was fun to watch the boys explore the pioneer themed activities. Nathan would lock onto something and study it so intently.

New Years Eve at Gilbert 019

They both amaze me... but that night Nathan was interested in new things... He is growing up so fast.
